Judith Douglas Town Planning Ltd is an independent practice offering a comprehensive range of professional planning services to individuals, businesses and developers throughout the North West.
Judith offers clients a specialist, individual service, navigating the complexities of the planning process, with the intent of achieving their goals.
Judith previously worked with Janet Dixon Town Planners and formed her own consultancy in 2016 after Janet’s retirement.
Having graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic in 1987, Judith’s career began in a Local Authority. She started work in 1987 for Ribble Valley Borough Council, becoming a fully chartered town planner in 1989 before moving to Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council in 1991. As Area Team Leader she had responsibility for major planning applications within the Authority as well as a period of covering the duties of the Conservation Officer. Gaining experience in all types of planning application work including appeals and hearings, she joined Janet Dixon Town Planners in 2001. Whilst working with Janet, Judith has built up working relationships with many Council Planning Officers in the area, in particular within the boroughs of Ribble Valley, Pendle, Hyndburn, Burnley, and Blackburn. She has continued to work on a wide variety projects from domestic extensions to housing estates, shops, industrial development and heritage schemes.
Outside work Judith enjoys youth work with her local church, gardening and playing flute in Clitheroe Town Band.
